Not only is Willow Street AC made up of great runners, but diverse individuals with many talents. The team is made up of multi-talented athletes that compete in various competitions world-wide, along with people making a difference in our community. Check out some of their stories:
Experienced triathlete, Elizabeth Izzo, has not let her recent health prognosis get in her way. She has been learning to navigate them smartly while still competing at a high level. We are proud of how poised she has been throughout the process. Her comments from the race:
"Made it!!! No medical emergencies, done and dusted! Was feeling very strong and relaxed running 8 min miles until just after 8 miles - I was headed for heat stroke, it happened fast, a lot of the signs were there, and it was either slow down, gather ice for my suit like a chipmunk preparing for winter at every aid station, or become ill and possibly DNF. It was a troubleshooting opportunity requiring me to act fast mid race - and it worked!"
"Final time 11:26:01 - first sub-6hr ride ever, and a PR of about an hour from Kona in 2016! Stoke is high, so thankful!"
Longtime Willow teammate, Beth Stalker, showed her grit in the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant, placing first for her age group.
Humble as always, Beth had only told teammates that she competed, sharing:
"I was never sure I could make it through without an incident, cramping or a mechanical problem. Each part felt long but I tried to stay in the moment with gratitude. So when swim, bike, run was each near the end, I could barely believe it. I am blessed. I am grateful for EACH of you (my teammates); you inspire me. I thank God for Willow."
