Virginia Beach Shamrock Race Weekend
3/16/19 - 3/17/19
Congrats to Lori Kingsley who completed the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon in 3:08:29, taking the 5th place female spot and first in her division. Also to Karen Bertasso for running the Anthem Half Marathon in 1:19:26 which put her in fourth place out of 3,427 women and first in her division. Meanwhile the Willow Street Men’s Masters Team sprinted their way to second place in a close race at the USATF Masters 8km Championships including strong finishes by Jake Stookey, Volker Burkowski, and Andy Reed.


Willow Street at the 2019 Runnin' of the Green

The 2019 Runnin' of the Green saw a great turnout by Willow Street Athletic Club with five co-ed teams finishing in the top ten, including the top four teams! Individual results included first place finishes by Patrick Carroll and Karen Bertasso in the open men and women categories, as well as the top four finishes in the age-graded category with Beth Stalker finishing on top with an age-graded percentage of 85.87%. What a great way to kick off the 2019 racing season!


​​Willow Street Rocks The 2018 Stockade-athon

Willow Street Athletic Club made an outstanding showing at this year’s Stockade-athon. Individual results include impressive 4th place finishes by Karen Bertasso and Alex Benway, and a 6th place finish by Patrick Carroll. Derrick Staley was the overall age-graded champion, with Lori Kingsley taking not only the 2nd place female age-graded spot, but also first place in the master's division. All members of the team performed well resulting in top team rankings including:

    Women’s open team: 2nd place
    Women’s masters team: 1st place
    Men’s open team: 1st place
    Men’s masters team: 1st place

Karen Bertasso Runs Olympic Trials Qualifier

A huge congratulations goes out to Karen Bertasso who ran an amazing Olympic Marathon Trials qualifying time of 2:43:46 at the 2018 Hartford Marathon! Karen's pace of 6 minutes and 16 seconds per mile put her in second place at the finish. Karen's dedication and hard work gives her the opportunity to run alongside the best marathon runners in the country at the U.S. Olympic Trials and compete for a spot on the U.S. team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.​​
